Harrison Ford was born on 13th July, 1942 in Chicago,
Illinois. In 1975 George Lucas cast Harrison as Han Solo in Star Wars.
He had worked with George on American Graffitti
and the team went on to create the intrepid treasure hunter Indiana
Jones.
Ford turned down nearly $40 million to reprise his role as star
pirate Han Solo in a future STAR WARS spin-off - in favor of playing the
legendary archaeologist Indiana Jones once more.
He and his daughter Calista Flockhart served Thanksgiving dinner to
the Skid Row homeless at the Los Angeles Mission in downtown L.A.
"In many films people hit somebody and they fly
halfway across the state. That doesn't make sense and you get bored with
it, you don't feel it could happen to you. I have always had the
ambition to have my face in it so people could feel the emotional
consistency with the character through those physical moments."
