Davenport, Iowa, Lara Flynn Boyle was named after Julie Christie's character in Doctor ivago.
Lara achieved celeb notoriety thanks to her role as Laura Palmer's best friend and
Doctor's daughter Donna Hayward in David Lynch's cult TV series, Twin Peaks.
This role, along with
movies The Rookie (1990) and Wayne's World (1992) spring-boarded her career to another level.
Her off screen romance with David Lynch was a major news story, and
possibly the reason she turned down replaying Donna Hayward in the
feature length cinema offering spawned after the TV series ended.
