Renée Kathleen Zellweger was born on 25th April, 1969 in Baytown, Texas. Zellweger's father
was from Switzerland and her mother, Norwegian.
Her first job after graduating from University of Texas was working in a beef commercial.
Zellweger's first big part in a movie was alongside Matthew McConaughey in the 1994 horror movie Return of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
In 1996 she played with Tom Cruise in Jerry Maguire. Then in 2001, Zellweger
was given the lead role as Bridget Jones, in the British romantic comedy film
based on the novel Bridget Jones's Diary by Helen Fielding. She
deliberately gained weight to play the part and was nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award.
